iPhone 16 Pro Review — A Worthy Upgrade

90Smartphones

The iPhone 16 Pro was Apple's flagship Pro phone before the iPhone 17 Pro line took over, and now that it's a generation behind, it's a genuinely strong buy for anyone who wants the titanium build and Pro camera system without paying launch-day prices. In the UAE it's mostly sold now as an Apple-certified Renewed unit rather than fresh stock — worth knowing going in, since it affects warranty and what's actually in the box.

The titanium frame still feels like the nicest thing Apple has put in a phone-sized package, and the 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion is smooth and easy to read outdoors. The Action Button and Camera Control add two genuinely useful physical controls rather than gimmicks — Camera Control in particular makes quick-launching the camera and adjusting exposure faster than digging through the app.

The 48MP main camera holds up well against newer phones for everyday shooting, and the A18 Pro chip has more than enough headroom for Apple Intelligence's on-device features — writing tools, notification summaries, and visual look-up all run locally rather than round-tripping to a server. It's not the newest silicon on the market anymore, but it's not the bottleneck either.

Battery life is a clear step up from the 15 Pro and easily covers a full day of mixed use. If you can find one at a fair price — new or a well-reviewed Renewed unit — it's still an easy recommendation for anyone not chasing the absolute latest chip.
